Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: hplip
The lastest update of hplip seems to have introduced a bug when
connecting to network printers. For some reason the module ppdev is
loaded. I get the following messages when using hp-probe,
Sep 12 16:12:00 ausi kernel: [42952637.860000] ppdev0: registered pardevice
Sep 12 16:12:00 ausi hpiod: ParDevice::nibble_read failed: Input/output error
Sep 12 16:12:00 ausi kernel: [42952637.920000] ppdev0: unregistered pardevice
Sep 12 16:12:00 ausi python: hpssd [WARN] Inrecognized URI: cups-pdf:/
Sep 12 16:12:00 ausi python: [WARN] No devices found. If this isn't the result
you are expecting,
Sep 12 16:12:00 ausi python: [WARN] check to make sure your devices are
properly connected.
I have to mention that my network printer was working fine before.
