Thanks for submitting this bug report.
This is due to how the Linux Container (LXC) is set up for the Unity 8
session. A best practice for setting up LXC's is to use an Ethernet
bridge between the container and the host. This is how the unity8-lxc
is set up.
That said, I can look into seeing if it's possible to directly set up
the network from the Unity 8 session and if so, make sure it's sound as
far as LXC's go.
