Public bug reported:
I Failed to install 14.10 at /dev/sda along side with Windows 8.1 on an
UEFI laptop. I am trying to install dual-boot with OEM windows on a Dell
Inspiron 5000. The installer is started normally. I have selected to
manually creat the following partition layout:
/dev/sda1 as /boot is primary, ext2
/dev/sda2 as / is logical, ext4
/dev/sda3 as swap is logical
The installer continue to run normally until the moment where the grub
package will be installed. Its crash, failing and offering to report
this bug.
Please let me know if I need to give extra information to help with this
ticket. Any help will be absurdely helpfull. I have experience installing
ubuntu before, but this is my first attempt to do it on a UEFI firmware. I have:
- turned off "SECURE BOOT"
- turned on "LEGACY MODE"
- and booted from USB pendrive
Thanks in advance for your help!
