Public bug reported:

Running live USB of the latest Vivid daily build on Lenovo Thinkpad 10.

Ubuntu 15.04 (vivid-desktop-amd64.iso 2015-02-16 8:05)
Linux 3.18.0-13-generic

The power/battery applet is always red and suggest that battery is empty
and AC is unplugged.

With a full charge and AC adapter plugged, the system provides an
obviously incorrect status:

cat /sys/class/power_supply/ADP1/uevent:
POWER_SUPPLY_NAME=ADP1
POWER_SUPPLY_ONLINE=0

cat /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/uevent:
POWER_SUPPLY_NAME=BAT0
POWER_SUPPLY_STATUS=Unknown
POWER_SUPPLY_PRESENT=1
POWER_SUPPLY_TECHNOLOGY=Li-ion
POWER_SUPPLY_CYCLE_COUNT=8
POWER_SUPPLY_VOLTAGE_MIN_DESIGN=10800000
POWER_SUPPLY_VOLTAGE_NOW=0
POWER_SUPPLY_CURRENT_NOW=0
POWER_SUPPLY_CHARGE_FULL_DESIGN=6000000
POWER_SUPPLY_CHARGE_FULL=6000000
POWER_SUPPLY_CHARGE_NOW=0
POWER_SUPPLY_CAPACITY=0
POWER_SUPPLY_CAPACITY_LEVEL=Low
POWER_SUPPLY_MODEL_NAME=PABAS0241231
POWER_SUPPLY_MANUFACTURER=LG Chem

Let me know if you need additional information.
