Public bug reported: The xfce4 session was started with the command "startxfce4"
Some buttons of other notification area applets are also disabled. I have tried to start the nm-appled with root privilegies without success. If the xfce session is started with "sudo startxfce4" the xfce session is started as root ... The command "startx" does not work : no panel and no desktop ... only the xfce4 wallpaper with regular cursor. The command line network manager interface works normally in a root terminal or relying on sudo. If the xfce4 session is started from the graphical login screen everything is OK . In any case I like to start from the text mode login. ** Affects: xfce4-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: nm-applet session startxfce4 xfce4 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1422375 Title: If the xfce session is started as a regular user, the nm-applet buttons are greyed out and cannot be used To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-session/+bug/1422375/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
