When media is inserted into the DVD drive, UDEV takes out a SCSI lock. UDEV comments indicates this allows UDEV to more easily monitor media events. On the Hyper-V side, if a user tries to remove the media from the VMs DVD drive (by setting it to none), Hyper-V would report an error, indicating the media was locked. If Hyper-V detected a SCSI lock, it just returned an error. Hyper-V did not give the guest OS the opportunity to release the SCSI lock.
Hyper-V will now send the equivalent of a media tray eject button press interrupt to the guest. This will give the guest the opportunity to respond to the button press. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1177148 Title: DVD medium locked and not released by Ubuntu on Windows server 2012 and OS133/134 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1177148/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
