I also suffer this problem. Ubuntu 14.10 3.16.0-30-generic Transmission Remote GUI version 5.0.1
The problem is intermittent. It happens using multiple Transmission server versions on multiple remote hosts. I have done an 'apt-get purge' and removed ~/.config/Transmission\ Remote\ GUI, then reinstalled and reconfigured. This did not fix the problem.
