Sorry for the delay in responding, I've been away. dpkg-reconfigure failed because it could not find ttf-mscorefonts-installer so I downloaded the exe but I don't have wine on that machine so it is not recognised as an extractable archive by the archive manager. I transferred the exe to a windows machine and confirmed that it was not corrupted. apt-get does not recognise ttf-mscorefonts-installer as a valid package so I'll need some pointers on how to get it.
I'm not sure why msfonts would be needed on a machine not running wine. I do have wine on two other Ubuntu machines on a different network but not the one producing this error. The update manager has been continually failing so I've done an -update followed by -upgrade via the terminal Cheers Kim On 18/02/2015 7:29 AM, Brian Murray wrote: > This is most likely a result of the following error: > > ttf-mscorefonts-installer: downloading > http://downloads.sourceforge.net/corefonts/webdin32.exe > user did not accept the license > The fonts are NOT installed. > Please run 'dpkg-reconfigure ttf-mscorefonts-installer' to perform the > installation again > ... > Setting up samba-common (2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2.14.04.4) ... > Use of uninitialized value $_[1] in join or string at > /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/DbDriver/Stack.pm line 111, <GEN0> line 14. > Use of uninitialized value $val in substitution (s///) at > /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/Format/822.pm line 83, <GEN7> line 15. > Use of uninitialized value $val in concatenation (.) or string at > /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/Format/822.pm line 84, <GEN7> line 15. > -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1415454 Title: package libpam-winbind:amd64 2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2.14.04.4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 128 froze on update throughthe update manager. Ran apt-get update afterwards without problem so I'm not sure if this is a problem or not, Samba works fine if that is anything to do with it..
