Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rubygems

After using synaptic to install rubygems and librubygems version 0.9.4
any installed gem packages were not available. I could not find the
installed gems anywhere on the system despite "gem list --local"
insisting they were installed.

For example, after "gem install -y activerecord" I could not open IRB
and "require 'activerecord'"

Also, after installing "gem install -y mongrel" I could not find the
executable "mongrel_rails", or any files in /usr with "find . -iname
mongrel"

Once I removed the deb packages and installed rubygems-0.9.4 from source
directly from RubyForge the above gem commands work normally.

** Affects: libgems-ruby (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
