I am unable to reproduce this issue on Ubuntu 14.04 32bit with an AMD
Radeon HD 7870 using the open source radeon driver.
Are you using a 64 bit version of Ubuntu 14.04? What happens if you
uninstall the proprietary NVIDIA drivers and use the open source nouveau
driver?
