Unfortunately, I stumbled upon the problem with the position and alignment of the desktop icons, after un upgrade on a laptop from Ubuntu 12.04 to Xubuntu 14.04 with xfdesktop4 4.11.8-0ubuntu0.1 i386. Any suggestions ? :)
