Ok. I finally got time to test kubuntu tribe 5. It will not bring up a
working X, when booting ordinarily. However the safe graphics mode, will
bring up working X. However in this case, the refresh settings are:
HorizSync 30-70
VertRefresh 50-160
I.e. the ones that don't work with gdm/kdm and the vesa driver after
installation.
Any way I can get the xorg.conf from the non-safe mode boot?
