Hey... I got here again updating software.

The updater insisted that I input my user password when normally it does
not do this. It seems that the updater fetched and installed a new
kernel. After that had completed, a system software error was detected,
and I said yes that I woud report it.

Next thing I know the software wants to know if my modem is working
while conducting the software bug report. I do not have a modem--just a
bluetooth interface. I have nothing connected to my expansion slots.
My keyboard / mouse is connected by single USB dongle and is a Microsoft
wireless unit with touchpad connected via USB radio dongle--not a
bluetooth, but a cheap CDN$29.99 unit on sale last year some time.

Mainboard is an Asus Z87-Expert with 8 Gbytes installed. System disk is
3 Tbyte WD Green. Wireless LAN is built it but has a small motherboard
supplied antenna. When I first installed Linux to this machine, the
wired LAN port was not recognized so I had to use the wireless LAN port.

The system now sits here requiring a reboot. Hopefully nothing bad
results?
