Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk

Hello to everyone, this is my first bug report and I'm just an user
willing to help, not a programmer, so forgive me if there's something
wrong with my report. Also please forgive my not so perfect english.

I'm testing Ubuntu Gutsy.
I have and intel gma950 card and two LCD displays. The first one ( the main
one, the notebook display) is 1280x800. The second one is 1360x768.
The problem is that, if I link them with VGA, they both go at 1360x768, so in
the first display the image is cutted on the right part.
So I tried to use displayconfig-gtk to solve this and set the second display as
a mirror of the first at the correct resolution, but it doesn't work at all:
- screen1 is set at 1366x768 and as default...I don't know if this is correct.
I think default should be the notebook at 1280x800, not the external display
connected with a vga cable. So I set this as secondary mirror display.
- screen 2 is disabled. I enable it as default and set at 1280x800. Under
"model" i choose "LCD Panel 1280x800". Now something very bad happens: even if
under model I have "1280x800", under resolution I dont get that, but only
640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960, 1280x1024 and so on! But the worst part
is that, no matter what I choose, the resolution of screen 1, which was ok
before, is changed to 640x480. What a mess! :)
This happens both using i810 and intel drivers.
The problem happens even if I set screen1 as default and screen2 as secondary.
So in gutsy, right now, there's no way I can set my second monitor correctly.
