Hey I decided that Maybe My Problem is with the packages that seem to be cross-dependent on each other so that none of them can be completely installed/configured: cups-daemon samba winbind cups-core-drivers cups unattended-upgrades
So I removed each package using 'sudo apt-get' to see if I can get to point where the errors disappear. I also ran apt-get autoremove to remove any packages that were no longer needed (in case they contained any pointers that would recreate problems when time came to install these above packages again). Then, HOPEFULLY, I will be able to reinstall these packages cleanly (one at a time if possible). OK NOW THINGS ARE LOOKING CLEAN I will now re-run the following to prove error messages are gone: sudo apt-get clean sudo apt-get autoremove sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade YEA – I no longer get error messages. NOW – I need to figure out the correct priority to re-install the removed packages. samba winbind cups-daemon cups-core-drivers cups unattended-upgrades -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1413827 Title: package samba-common 2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2.14.04.4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1413827/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
