Feisty up-to-date on Acer ASPIRE 1524WLMi AMD Athlon 64 Laptop Kernel 2.6.20-16 i386 Internal VIA82XX modem working with sl-modem-daemon package from multiverse repositories. Slam module compiled from source, downloaded here http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/slmodem-2.9.11-20070813.tar.gz ungrab-winmodem module compiled from source, downloaded here http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/ungrab-winmodem-20070505.tar.gz When I am connected via dial-up connection and using laptop battery, if I plug ac adapter in, everything freezes.
