Phillw, you can disable ibus with the lxpolicykit?
Can someone please confirm that lubuntu-software-center AND ubuntu-
software-center work fine in Xubuntu and Kubuntu? If so, then it's
clearly an LXDE setup issue. For that matter, you could probably just
install xubuntu-desktop and kubuntu-desktop, I imagine.

Also can we confirm the fix? If so, we need to find out which was the last
version that actually worked right. Then we can look at the code and try to
figure out where the problem lies:

Bug description:
  Vivid daily version 20150221Lubuntu desktop i386 installed gives
following message when using Lubuntu Software Center to install a package,
whereas Synaptic cannot be opened:
  You are not allowed to perform this action
  You don't have the required privileges to perform this action.
  org.freedesktop.PolicyKit.Error.Failed: ('system-bus-name', {'name':
':1.51'}): org.debian.apt.install-or-remove-packages
