In an attempt to narrow it down, I downloaded some more kernels from mainline to test. I reloaded the machine with 12.04 and tried 3.11.0-26 (via linux-generic-lts-saucy meta) and 3.12.0 from the mainline repository. 3.12.0 is slow like 3.13 and 3.11.0-26 performs fine as noted in the original report.
The only commit I could find involving vesafb between those was in 3.12-rc1, but I could be missing something. https://lkml.org/lkml/2013/8/2/787 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1434581 Title: Console extremely slow with 3.13 and newer kernels for certified servers with Matrox G200er2 or similar To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1434581/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
