Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-raw-thumbnailer
After installation of gnome-raw-thumbnailer, I get the following error
when I double-click a .NEF file (a RAW file from a Nikon D50 camera):
"The filename "DSC_0004.NEF" indicates that this file is of type
"Digital raw image". The contents of the file indicate that the file is
of type "TIFF image". If you open this file, the file might present a
security risk to your system.
Do not open the file unless you created the file yourself, or received
the file from a trusted source. To open the file, rename the file to the
correct extension for "TIFF image", then open the file normally.
Alternatively, use the Open With menu to choose a specific application
for the file."
Somehow the filetype is not recognized correctly anymore. Double
clicking an .NEF file doens't open the default application The Gimp.
Right-clicking the file provides me with the menu option "Open With",
whereas it should also provide the standard "Open with The Gimp" option
to start the default application for that type of file.
After uninstalling gnome-raw-thumbnailer this problem immediatelly
disappears.
