I updated the BIOS:
gondor:/etc# dmidecode -s bios-version && dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Unfortunately it has no influence on the touchpad behaviour. The errors
showing up are still like the ones logged in
XorgLog.txt/xserver.errors.txt
