This bug has starting affecting one of my production servers. I would classify it as "critical". I turned off and uninstalled the screensaver on this computer, but apparently that is not enough to prevent Ubuntu from going to sleep. It will go to sleep by itself even if there is NO SCREENSAVER application installed on the operating system! That is a CRITICAL BUG!!!
So, in an effert to stop the computer from going to sleep, I installed XScreenSaver, and turned it to "never go to sleep, ever" settings. Now I have to start XScreenSaver at startup, to try to PREVENT this machine from going to sleep. But it doesn't work. Every few days, I'll wake up and be logged out of the machine, server is down, not live to the world. Downtime caused by this bug. If I then try to log back in, it IMMEDIATELY logs me back out! I have to cold restart the whole machine to get back in. This bug is so critical that I may have to migrate away from Ubuntu if there is no forthcoming solution. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/980519 Title: Random log off in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/980519/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
