Same problem here, backtrace from xorg log stops at nvidia_drv.so. Does
not occur if compiz is disabled. This fix is either going to be a
workaround or a wait-on-nvidia deal. I still recommend compiz being
disabled automatically when a user installs the nvidia driver in gutsy.
(but give them the option to turn it back on).
