Public bug reported: I usually upgrade using update-manager. Sometimes I run "apt-get upgrade" and I notice that some packages weren't upgraded using update- manager. Today I was offered by "apt-get" to upgrade libxext6 when the upgrade was ready for download in January. You can see in the logs some more packages that I upgraded months after they were released.
