(In reply to Thomas Lübking from comment #77) I'm afraid I won't add any certainty here. I've installed Kubuntu 15 + some useful stuff + all proprietary drivers + changed window styles a bit. All as one go. At some point plasma started to freeze in ~5min after session start - only mouse works, nothing else. No any hotkeys helped. Eventually I damaged the system (by doing hard reset every freeze) and had to roll back to 14.04. When I found this recommendation (rm -rf ~/.cache) I've decided to try again. I've installed Kubuntu 15 + performed rm + some useful soft + changed composer to OpenGL 3.x + installed all proprietary drivers except Nvidea. The problem still not appeared. I can try to install NVIDEA drivers but unless problem appears just after that this give nothing as I already performed rm -rf just after installation. So I can't identify the root of the problem. Btw, when I had this problem I managed to switch back to default drivers and restore default appearance settings before freeze happened - it didn't help. Also after few hard reboots I've lost connectivity functionality - nothing except flight mode switch was in tray.
