The problem might be, that lrm-video, which is called with "modprobe nvidia", finds one of the files /lib/linux-restricted-modules/.nvidia_legacy_installed or /lib/linux-restricted-modules/.nvidia_new_installed, replaces the module-name and then can not want to load the wrong driver.
Solution: /lib/linux-restricted-modules/.nvidia_new_installed should be removed with its owning package nvidia-glx-new. Maybe the same problem exists for nvidia-glx-legacy. -- problems with reconfiguring the xserver, due to a problem with nvidia-glx-legacy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109606 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
