Same here on a fresh 15.04 Ubuntu Gnome install. N.B. this was a 64bit non uefi install.
Same workaround sorted ie install from cli. Was then able to launch and run their own installer from the dash. Very strange we have so few indications of this as this is a big deal. N.B.
