I made some further tests. The problem seems a little bit more complex
than I thought. To avoid wrong conclusion, I simply report here the
tests I've done:

Using a .ps produced with the gutsy repos kpdf, on a debian etch machine
the file opens correctly in kghostview and also prints correctly. This
would seem to indicate the .ps file gets generated correctly, _even_
with poppler involved. Kghostview on gutsy, otoh, displays only half
picture, exactly matching the printing problem. Gv, on gutsy, displays
the file correctly.

I hope someone can come up with something. If I had to take a guess, I
would point my finger to ghostscript, which is currently an svn snapshot
in gutsy.
