Hello,
Thanks for submitting this bug report. I believe you are using Unity 8
in LXC. The LXC uses a network bridge to however the host has the
network setup. So if you have Wifi access at the LightDM prompt, then
your Unity 8 LXC session will have network acess too.
There is an outstanding bug for allowing the Unity 8 LXC session direct
access to networking. See bug #1419575 for more details. As such, I'm
going to mark this bug report as a duplicate to that one.
