The xserver-xorg installiation fixes the issue but, in my case, it introduces 
another issue. A great number of artifacts, little white or black horizontal 
lines sometimes appear/disappear on the screen in relation with the mouse 
movement.
The solution of changing the intel method of accelleration to "uxa" works too, 
but it has the same side effects. I suspect that installing xserver-xorg in 
some way changes the accelleration to "uxa"...
