Some new elements: the bug seems to be linked with a KDE or X.org element. I tried the following:
Boot and login to the console => no bug (I can un/re-plug as much as I want) Login to an X session => bug Reboot Login to an X session ; logout without trying to unplug. Login to the console => no bug Login to an X session => bug. Note that in even when I login to the console, an X session is up with the greeter.
