I don't know who at Samsung wrote that response. They have a bug in
their SSD firmware. Full stop. The issue with Linux probably is, that it
supports a feature that Windows doesn't and thus is the only OS affected
by the broken firmware.

Martin Petersen from the linux-ide mailing list wrote, when he was
sending the patch blacklisting all 800 series SSDs, that they would work
with Samsung to resolve the issue - whatever that means.
