Hi! This bug affects me. It forces my blu-ray drive 'ASUS BW-16D1HT' to read only at minimum speed. It is extremely annoying as the drive paradoxically writes at X6 (or even faster) speed just fine using cdrecord.
$ hdparm -E /dev/sr0 returns same error as you. $ eject /dev/sr0 -vx 8 Does nothing. Kernel is quiet and nothing displayed on the logs. So when this will be fixed? Now I have to wait for ~20min to read a single 25GBit Bly-ray disk versus burning 25Gbit image in 14mins. ** Tags added: cdrecord -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538351 Title: Can't set optical drive speed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hdparm/+bug/538351/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
