Brian, Sorry, no can do!
I have backed off to 14.04 and am staying there until a resolution occurs or the next release comes out. I can't afford the time for upgrade/downgrade experiments - the loss of all desktop settings and the need to re-install add-on packages manually during such a process is extremely time consuming. I only went up to 14.10 so I could "upgrade" (in place) to 15.04. Is such an automated upgrade (single step) from 14.04 to 15.04 planned?
