The settings for /etc/default/grub to get the same behaviour as the old
version are:
GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=0
GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET=true
GRUB_TIMEOUT=2
GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=hidden
