Same here.  Installed lxd based on the instructions found on ubuntu.com:

since the lxd daemon does not start on its own, the instructions in the
quick start fail:

ubuntu@these-grandmother:~$ lxd-images import lxc ubuntu vivid amd64 --alias 
vivid
LXD isn't running.
ubuntu@these-grandmother:~$ service lxd start
