I encountered the same problem on a TECRA A8 laptop when installing Ubuntu 64bit desktop 14.04.2. In dmesg the HW audio codec is never identified (as shown above). I then installed Ubuntu 64bit desktop 14.04.1 and the audio works as expected (dmesg shows HW codec as ALC262). I have attached the dmesg listings, just after boot, for both images for your review.
