The error in your logs is:
Processing triggers for update-notifier-common (0.154.1ubuntu1) ...
Illegal instruction (core dumped)
dpkg: error processing package update-notifier-common (--unpack):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 132
That's quite an unusual error. It won't be a bug in the update-
notifier-common package, since there is no architecture-specific code
running there. It's actually much more likely that this is a hardware
problem on your system.
Please post the output of 'cat /proc/cpuinfo' here. Also, if you run
'sudo apt-get -f install', does the command complete successfully?
(This will tell us whether it's a intermittent problem on your system.)
