This is related to Ubuntu Wily only.
Like the summary says, synaptic needs to be rebuilt against the newer vte-2.91
(v. 0.40.2), just like gnome-terminal (v. 3.16.2) is.
Synaptic is currently (v. 0.81.3) built against older vte-2.90 (v. 0.36.3).
