Yes, it might be caused by that revision. In the packaging, compiz-gnome
.gsettings-override explicitly lists unityshell in enabled-plugins list
(what a mess).

We either need per-session defaults in gsettings, or add a workaround
for this to gnome-flashback.

Even after that, to have a working compiz session, we'll need my branch
(lp:~mitya57/compiz/switcher-plugins-in-default) merged (bregma says
he's discussing it with other devs).
