when there are 2 entries in fstab like
/dev/vdb1 has the label extended
LABEL=extended /mnt/data ext4 defaults 0 2
/dev/vdb1 /mnt./data ext4 defaults 0 2
ubuntu hangs infinite after requiring ip address
after removing one of the entries in fstab its boot normal again
i only tested this with a up to date ubuntu 14.04
