We are still using a blacklist for ASUSTek G60JX laptops in the Ubuntu
kernel. Would it be possible for you to install Ubuntu on the other
harddisk and then install the latest mainline kernel to see if the bug
still happens? If it does, I'd like to create a new patch and avoid the
blacklist.

The latest mainline kernel can be download from:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.2-rc2-unstable/
