Here is screenshot from adding sender to contact list. You can see that it goes with a string in place of mobile number (this cannot be done in other way). The behaviour in r23 is a bit different - only senders that match the contact will have an avatar as the contact. Previously adding even one such a sender to any contact was ending up in assigning same avatar to all alphanumeric senders. Unfortunatelly I still cannot have separate contacts for this kind of SMSs while having many of those (banking, comercials, authorization, ...) Hope it is more clear now.
