As mentioned by the bug watch, this was fixed in Debian when angband-
audio was packaged. It has since been synced to Ubuntu and is
available/installable in Ubuntu Wily. Therefore I believe this issue is
resolved.

For those who would be interested in potentially backporting this
package to older Ubuntu releases, you may want to wait a while. The
package does exist, but after installing it angband only seem to
segfault when I attempt running it. I've filed bug 1477873 on this, as
well as forwarding it to Debian since I was also able to reproduce it
there.
