I experienced similar problems after the same update to 14.04 LTS. After reboot, an error message was displayed reporting an internal error. The error involved wineserver, and unsurprisingly my Wine programs would not work. Hopefully, the error report was sent and it will be fixed quickly. I rebooted back to the previous version, 3.13.0-58-generic.
