Having designed the Online Accounts settings, I can state that "my
predecessor" (whoever that was) was mistaken: no app should ever dump
you there. Instead it should use the Online Accounts API to request
access to the kind of account it wants.
This is indeed what the Calendar app does (modulo bug 1479747), so this
bug is fixed.
