The blcr/dkms issue has been affecting me with the installation of
linux-kernel-generic 3.13.0-58 linux-kernel-generic 3.13.0-59 and linux-
kernel-generic 3.13.0-61, and may have affected me before.
I think the Unity thing is unrelated - I'm running kubuntu, and hence
KDE display manager.
My current kernel is Linux phaal-kubuntu 3.13.0-61-generic #100-Ubuntu
SMP Wed Jul 29 11:21:34 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux so I'm
not sure why there would be a non-SMP kernel hanging around either in
configuration or anywhere else. I find it a little odd that apt-get
holds back my kernel upgrades, and perhaps at some point I experimented
with kernels other than that which was supposed to be installed on my
machine (eg around 2010 I was probably running an earlier version of
ubuntu on here, and might have tried a different kernel in order to get
cuda running.)
