Thanks for your report, I've marked it Invalid as this is a feature of
Dolphin, not a bug. When you change the view mode in the ways you
described, this only changes them for the current Dolphin session.
If you want to change the default view mode, go to the Settings Menu ->
Configure Dolphin. The 'Default View Mode is in there in the General
settings.
