Title says it all. Sample file below would be perfectly valid:
# Secrets for authentication using CHAP

However, in my daily password, I use a #. So the chap-secret below gives me
errors:
# Secrets for authentication using CHAP
# client server secret IP addresses
koen * Jekeke543# *
This generates the following error lines in syslog:
