Public bug reported: KDE framework 5.12 has just been shipped to those using the kubuntu ppa in place of the 5.9 provided with kubuntu vivid.
Unfortunately 5.12 breaks the trashcan widget, which is not quite surprising since everything in KDE 5 seems rapidly moving and hardly tested (good for development, but certainly not suitable for a stable distribution). The trashcan widget does not load and one sees a gray box stating "Error loading Applet: package inexistent" This is a bug that has already been dealt with by Fedora at the time of KDE framework 5.11 See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1231972 If fixing this bugs takes time away from other much more serious KDE 5 bugs, please ignore it. The trashcan is something one can perfectly live without. There are many much more serious KDE 5 bugs all marked as REGRESSION in their title. ** Affects: kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kubuntu-meta in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1482855 Title: REGRESSION after update to KDE Framework 5.12 trashcan widget is broken To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-meta/+bug/1482855/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
