Similar problem on vivid (15.04). When grub goes to probe a Fedora partition I have on /dev/sdb4, the process "grub-mount" takes 100% of CPU. The following sequence of commands takes 29 seconds to complete with the process grub-mount taking all the CPU:
/usr/bin/grub-mount /dev/sdb4 /var/lib/os-prober/mount /usr/lib/os-probes/mounted/90linux-distro /dev/sdb4 /var/lib/os-prober/mount ext2 Also this command on the grub-mount-ed dir takes more than one minute with grub-mount eating all the CPU ls /var/lib/os-prober/mount/lib64 I forced an fsck to /dev/sdb4, but nothing improved. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1002451 Title: Slow reconfiguration during kernel installation or removal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1002451/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
